Kickdown chaos

Multitudes of music and motorcycle-mad punters were bathed in sunshine at the Kickdown Festival 2025 at Joe’s Farm, Whangamatā, from February 6 to 8. Motorcyclists were invited to take part in the Coromandel loop ride or CFMoto adventure ride followed by an open fire barbecue meat festival on February 7, and the downtown bike show in Whangamatā township on the morning of February 8. Back on the festival grounds, people were able to get amongst the fun and festivities such as food stalls, barber shops, tattoo artists, freestyle motocross displays, motorcycle stalls, NZ Stage and Screen Combat School displays and more. But the main event on day three was the afternoon concert, which kicked off with Dick Move, followed by The D4, Th’ Dudes, Kora and wrapped up with a performance by headliners Shihad. Reporter DAVIDDA HIKATANGATA was there to snap some of the action on concert day.
