T-RAP launched

Thames’ Porritt Park was filled with people on May 25, for the 2025 launch of T-RAP. The Thames Rangitahi Advisory Panel, made up of local youths between 12 and 24 years of age, organised the free event to celebrate another year of advocacy, community involvement, and youth-oriented activities.

On offer was face painting, snow cones, a sausage sizzle, cotton candy, lawn games, arts and crafts, and a basketball shooting competition, alongside the playground and skatepark.

There were giveaways, and attendees were encouraged to sign up and become a part of the group, which advocates for the youth of Thames and surrounding areas. Reporter ALICE PARMINTER dropped in to see the action.
