Teigan Lange has made her mark at the 2025 XP Gymnastics Nationals, placing third in her tumbling qualifier group and gaining her a finals spot of eighth overall in the 15 years and over category across New Zealand.
The event, which took place at Auckland’s Trusts Arena on September 23-27, saw Teigan, who trains at Thames Gymsports, representing the Waikato tumbling team.
Coach Natasha Noble said Teigan’s performance showcased not only her skill and athleticism but also her unwavering determination and grit.
“As the first athlete from Thames Gymsports – a small rural gymnastics club – to compete at this national level, Teigan’s achievement is particularly significant,” Natasha said.
“She stands as a strong inspiration to the young athletes within the club, showing them what dedication and perseverance can accomplish.”
Teigan trained intensively, Natasha said, pushing her limits and refining her tumbling techniques to give a standout performance on the national stage.
Alongside Natasha, Teigan’s journey has been supported by a collaborative coaching team including input from coaches at Argos Gymsports and the Waikato Tumbling Coaching team.
“It’s been fantastic to be able to pull together this awesome support network, but at the end of the day it is Teigan’s own talent, focus and perseverance that have truly driven her success. I am so incredibly proud of her growth this year both as an athlete and on a personal level,” Natasha said.
Teigan is continuing her competitive tumbling journey, and is now aiming to secure a scholarship from Gymnastics New Zealand to attend the Ollerup School of Gymnastics in Denmark in 2027.
“Thames Gymsports and the wider gymnastics community are immensely proud of her and look forward to following her journey ahead.”
