HEALTH AND WELLBEING ADVERTISING FEATURE
Wellbeing does not begin in a clinic or an office, it begins at the kitchen table, in a warm bed, in a shower taken safely, in a familiar voice at the door.
The home becomes a place where wellbeing is nurtured, and dignity is maintained.
Ohu Kāinga, Home Based Support Services, specialise in providing home-based care that is tailored to the individual needs of eligible kaumātua (elderly) and whānau whaikaha (people with disabilities).
Practical and compassionate care that supports these whānau to remain living in their own whare, ensuring they stay connected to their whānau and community, and maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, we provide services that are grounded in tikanga, with our three mātāpono (values) always at the heart of our mahi: manaakitanga (care that uplifts mana), kotahitanga (unity of purpose), and whanaungatanga (relationship and belonging).
Ohu Kāinga services encompass home help, personal care, and medication oversight.
Our service coordination team works with whānau and healthcare providers to develop a plan that will meet the individual needs of the person.
Our team of dedicated and experienced support workers deliver this rewarding mahi out in the community, making a real difference in people’s daily lives.
Being a rural healthcare provider, our whānau often live down long metal roads, over the ranges, out on the coast and across the plains.
Distance, weather and isolation are not barriers to our service, we are committed to providing the highest standard of care to those who need it – mō tātou o Hauraki.
Ohu Kāinga services are fully funded for eligible tangata (persons).
Please discuss your eligibility and the referral process with your GP or practice nurse.
