The field at Goldfields School hosted a purple posse, a pocket of polite pets and an assortment of activities recently for its Purple Kotahitanga Day.
Students, teachers and whānau gathered to highlight a significant school uara (value) called Kotahitanga or collaboration. Matua Caleb told The Profile the day celebrated weaving whānau, community and “our tamariki and kaiako” together.
An interactive farmyard was set up for people to pet and spend time with various animals and there was also a disco, treasure hunt and shared kai.
An Information Expo for whānau was also held to share information about the future of their tamariki from presenters and groups from across Waikato. Reporter DAVIDDA HIKATANGATA popped down to the purple party.
