SH25 open, care still needed on road

The slip at Ruamahanga has now been cleared and SH25 on the Thames Coast Rd is fully open, according to Waka Kotahi NZTA.

The overall condition of the road still requires drivers to take great care as there are slips in the shoulder, bits of debris on the road in places and little bits of surface water – which are all as a result of the ground and surface water working its way through the land.

Waka Kotahi is reminding  drivers to take care and comply with the temporary 50km/h speed limit through the slip site.
The 309 Rd is now open to all traffic but multiple 1 lane sections due to underslips make it unsuitable for long vehicles or vehicles with trailers.

The Tapu-Coroglen Road is still closed and impassable for the foreseeable future.

SH25a Kopu-Hikuai is still closed for the foreseeable future.

SH2 Karangahake Gorge is open but caution is advised. There was a slip near Crown Hill Road, between Paeroa and Waihi this morning, with traffic management in place.

SH25 Waihi to Coromandel is open with delays.
