It was a day of sportsmanship and “fierce competition” for Thames High School at their recent annual sports exchange with Te Aroha College.
THS student leader and year 12 student Gracie Miller said it was a great day at the event which was hosted by Thames on their home turf.
It also coincided with Thames High’s Spirit Week celebrations.
“I like how it falls in with Spirit Week here at school because we get to show examples of positive sportsmanship to the rest of the school and the spectators really put in the effort to support those of us who are playing,” Gracie said.
Spirit Week is a time for Thames High students, staff and whānau to “show off their school spirit”. From lunchtime karaoke, dressing as their favourite meme, to taking part in “anything but a bag day” – instead using such items as a stroller, basket or chilly bin – Thames High celebrated Spirit Week in style.
