Understanding what’s behind your pain – and what you can do about it.
Headaches are one of the most common complaints we see at Evergreen Chiropractic – and one of the most misunderstood.
Many people reach for pain relief and carry on, not realising their headaches may be rooted in tension and dysfunction in the neck and upper spine rather than anything going on in the head itself.
Cervicogenic headaches – those originating from the cervical spine – often present as a dull ache at the base of the skull, pain behind the eyes, or tension across the forehead.
They’re frequently triggered by poor posture, prolonged desk work, disrupted sleep, or stress. As we move into autumn and the pace of life shifts, these patterns often become more pronounced.
Chiropractic care addresses the underlying cause rather than masking the symptom. Through gentle spinal assessment and targeted adjustments to the upper cervical spine, we aim to reduce the neural tension and joint restriction that drives many headache patterns.
Combined with postural advice, movement strategies, and simple lifestyle adjustments, most patients experience meaningful improvement – often within just a few visits.
If you’ve been living with headaches you’ve written off as “just stress,” it’s worth getting your spine assessed.
You may be surprised how much better life looks without that background noise.
We’re also pleased to welcome back Dr Peter Wass, who rejoins our team throughout April and May.
It’s great to have Pete back in the practice – book in to see him while you can.
