It was a night of celebration and “wonderful acknowledgement” on October 17 for sister general practices Health Ngatea and Health Te Aroha. That’s when the health care providers took out the award for Ka Ora Telecare Rural General Practice of the Year at the 2026 New Zealand Primary Healthcare Awards. GP Hayley Scott told The Profile it felt like a big deal.
“When they called out our name, we were all pretty excited.” The health practitioner said they were all so proud of their achievement. “We work a lot with people in the community… we’re keen to celebrate it with everyone. We are all so proud of this wonderful acknowledgement within our industry.”
