Major Oak takes the lead in safety training

ADVERTORIAL
When it comes to heavy and high risk industry specialist training, Major Oak Safety Training (MOST) is your first port of call.
Owned and operated by Paeroa locals Stuart and Vanessa Hindley, the multi-award-winning safety training provider is the only category one NZQA registered Private Training Establishment in the Hauraki.
We also provide driver licenses and endorsements for cars, motorbikes, heavy vehicles and mobile plants. We love living and basing our business in the Hauraki District, it gives us the ability to be central for our clients both Nationally and Internationally.

Owners Stuart and Vanessa Hindley.

We use state-of-the-art world class simulation technology as well as internationally recognized verification and training techniques. We developed New Zealand’s first NZQA accredited micro-credentials in the crane domain including pathways into and through the crane industry to increase industry availability.
Nothing satisfies us more than being to help and support our local area and economy, be it through sponsorships, guest speaking, partnering with other local businesses or providing our specialist services.
MOST provides Gateway programs for schools/colleges, support for alternative learning, services to individuals, small businesses, local/national government, national/international companies and services to parts of Australia and the South Pacific.

Our Paeroa head office is NZ’s first and only dedicated heavy industry and high-risk training facility with over 4500m2 of training space including, light vehicles, heavy vehicles, cranes, height safety, confined space, mobile plant and excavation training areas to provide complete industry training for beginners through to experienced operators.
Being able to adapt and tailor course material using relevant industry experience to keep the training enjoyable, involved, and informative across all levels of company structures, cultures and environments is of huge importance. We deliver courses onsite all over, however having our own equipment enables us to bring people from miles around to Paeroa.

Our philosophy is against “bums on seats” training and believe all training should be relevant and engaging.
This has served us well being named 2019-2022 Crane training company of the year as well as finalists in several business awards. 2022 also saw our founder Stuart being named the inaugural NZ Crane Leader of the year, Crane Trainer of the Year 2023, finalist in 2024, Crane trainer of the year once again in 2025. MOST as a business also won the last Hauraki business award for the Trades, Manufacturing and Primary Industries category. We are super proud to be a contender again in this year’s awards.

We are always looking to find ways to benefit the local and wider community and industry including building and maintaining relationships with overseas organisations and introducing new services, we believe that we are taking the lead in the mission to provide safer, more competent, and efficient drivers, motorcyclists and candidates to fill the skill gaps for heavy and high-risk industry.
