Around 40 people gathered in Kaiaua for the Pink Ribbon Day Walk recently, raising $494 for the Breast Cancer Foundation.
But it wasn’t just people in attendance.
Six mini horses and two dogs were part of the parade, but the main attraction were the 11 donkeys – all there to support the cause.
Organiser Lee Copland told The Profile that every year on Pink Ribbon Day, she’d put on a pink t-shirt and pink wig for the street appeal in Thames, followed by a Pink Ribbon Donkey Walk with the Donkey and Mule Society of NZ.
“Thank you to the lovely people who donated to such a worthwhile cause.” In total, Lee raised $735 this year for the cause.
