Whānau fun

It was a day filled with people, fun and community spirit on July 17 in the heart of Thames township. The Thames War Memorial Civic Centre teemed with tamariki, kaumātua, whānau, friends and the wider community for the Whānau Day Out. Hosted by Te Korowai Hauora O Hauraki and supported by Thames Coromandel District Council, the event was busy with people who checked out the health providers, social services and community group stalls. There were free activities, a free sausage sizzle, spot prizes, health checks and lots more to see and do. Reporter DAVIDDA HIKATANGATA got amongst the wairua (spirit) of the day.
