Six rugby teams from across the Valley battled it out for the 2026 Thames Valley Club Finals on July 25 in Thames.
Teams played with heart, pride and passion in each final hoorah for the season, but only three could clinch the cups.
The Premier final for the McClinchy Cup was a nail-biter right down to the wire between Thames Taniwha and Waihī Athletic.
In a suspenseful ending, Waihī Athletic snapped up the win with a score of 20-19, and held on to the title for the third time in a row. Tairua Rugby and Sports Club secured the 2026 Lawrence Memorial Cup in the Senior B final with a 29-10 victory over Te Aroha Old Boys College Rugby and Sports, while Coromandel Rugby Football and Sports Club scooped the 2026 McDonald Cup in the Senior C final with a win of 17-12 against Thames Taniwha.
