MEET THE LOCALS ADVERTISING FEATURE
Welcome to the Hauraki District. Nau mai, haere mai.
Whether you’ve arrived with a truck full of furniture, farm gear, kids, pets, or simply the excitement of a fresh start, we hope you quickly feel at home in our special corner of Aotearoa.
Ours is a district built on strong communities, good neighbours, and people who genuinely care about one another.
Dairy farming has a long and proud history here, and for many people, the rhythm of rural life is what makes this place so special.
Whether you’re on the farm, in town, by the coast, or somewhere in between, we know settling into a new area takes time.
And if there are days when pulling on the gumboots feels a bit harder, please know there is support around you.
Our Council team is always happy to help point you in the right direction
The Waikato Hauraki Rural Support Trust is there for our rural communities too.
Better yet, come and say hello in person. We’d love to meet you.
There’s a lot to love about life here.
From the stunning coastlines of Kaiaua and Whiritoa to the rugged beauty of the Karangahake Gorge, you’ll find fishing, biking, walking and no shortage of outdoor adventures.
Great local cafés, markets and sports clubs mean there’s always something happening close to home.
One of the best ways to feel part of the community is simply to show up.
Once the cows are settled, the shed is sorted, and the boxes are unpacked, look up your local school, sports club or community group and introduce yourself.
You don’t have to be here long before people start waving from the roadside or stopping for a chat at the local shops.
Before you know it, there’ll be a Hauraki-shaped place in your heart.
We also encourage you to download the Antenno app to stay up to date with local alerts and Council updates relevant to you and your area.
Most importantly, we hope Hauraki quickly starts to feel less like somewhere new and more like home, creating lasting memories here with your whānau and friends.
Our team is here to help. Don’t be a stranger.
