If there’s one thing the Royal Oak Hotel is known for, hands down it’s the food.
It’s no surprise the hit dish of the summer was of course the summer platter, with delectable goods such as fresh mussels steamed in the Hotel’s special ginger and chilli broth, seaweed salad, homemade smoked salmon dip, toasted ciabatta and fresh Clevedon oysters.
Owners Lisa and Chris Chaffey said the success of the summer platter made it a no-brainer to add steamed mussels to their menu. “Unlike the summer platter, these steamed mussels will be available all year round.”
The support from customers was evident for the Tapu hot-spot across the month of March because “we hit a new record of sales on March 21”, Lisa said. “We’d like to extend our sincerest thanks and appreciation to everyone who came in that weekend, and for the patience and understanding of everyone who came through that day. Also thanks to everyone for their continued support as we enter our 4th year of business,” she said. “We’re still trucking along and it’s all thanks to our wonderful customers.”
As winter approaches, there’s no better time to start thinking about keeping warm and looking good.
“We’ve got hoodies, trackies and for those that wear shorts no matter the weather we have comfy winter shorts too.” There’s clothes options for everybody with: hoodies for $75, shorts for $45 and track pants for $50. If you can’t make it in to buy in person, message us via Facebook or Instagram to pay via internet banking [and] to arrange postage.”
