Multiple arrests for Waihī burglaries: information sought

Two people are facing charges after multiple burglaries at a Waihī store, Waihī Sergeant Nigel Sanderson said. The burglaries took place between October and December 2023.

Police executed a search warrant at a Waihī address, locating a large number of items believed to have been stolen in the burglaries.

Some of the items seized included a generator, camping equipment, power tools and inflatable pools.

Sgt Sanderson said solid investigative work and local knowledge assisted in identifying those responsible and executing the search warrant, and the police were pleased to be able to return the items to their rightful owner.

Two Waihī men aged 26 and 34 are due to appear in the Waihī District Court on charges related to the offending.

Sgt Sanderson said the pictured vehicle, a while and blue truck, was believed to have been involved in a number of burglaries. He urged anyone who may have been a victim of offending by someone using this truck to contact police.

If you witnessed or were a victim to offending where the vehicle pictured was used or believed to have been used, please contact police on 105 or online via https://www.police.govt.nz/use-105 using “Update report’ and reference file number: 231213/4984.
