‘A big thank you’ to Life Ed supporters

Life Education Trust Waikato East held its annual awards evening last month with a number of community members recognised for their support.
Held at the Thames Bowling Club on October 26, trustee Frances Nicol said community service awards were presented to Ngatea Panelbeaters, Richardsons Real Estate, and Fonterra for their “continuing valued support”.
“It’s businesses like these that enable our health programme to be out in the school communities, helping our young ones to develop into adults who are positive members of their communities,” she said.
“As one of our supporters said: ‘We’re here for the kids’.”
Chief executive of Life Education Trust New Zealand, John O’Connell, acknowledged the Waikato East chair, Keith Trembath, and trustees for their hard work to make the branch so successful.
Mr Trembath also said “a big thank you” to the three local councils that support the trust, as well as its patron, and all individuals and businesses which have helped “in so many ways”.
“Sadly, our educator Mike Budd is moving on after eight years with us,” Francis said. “He has been amazing – always giving 110 per cent to his job. The tamariki love him – and Harold the giraffe, of course.”
