The kitchen is the beating heart of any home

No matter what the design or layout of a house, the kitchen is its beating heart. So it’s vital that the kitchen works seamlessly – to facilitate the meals that will be prepared there, along with the more mundane tasks like washing up.
But more than that, a well-designed kitchen will encourage easy social interaction and provide an element of theatre.
For good kitchen design to take place, early consideration of appliance selection is crucial.
“The rapidly expanding range of appliance formats, shapes and sizes means that one-size-fits-all no longer holds for good kitchen design”, says Mark Milmine, owner of 100% Thames and 100% Whitianga.
“In spite of having the largest range of kitchen appliances on the peninsula, our stores can only display a small fraction of the products available.
“Our highly trained team will hunt down the right appliances for your lifestyle, to ensure you get the kitchen of your dreams,” he said.
Early consideration of freestanding versus built-in ovens is critical. In premium kitchens, twin ovens and companion products are growing in popularity.
“And customers shouldn’t leave choice of rangehood format until it’s too late for options,” Mark said.
Whilst almost all dishwashers fit the same cavity, integrated dishwashers (hidden behind cabinetry) or twin single DishDrawers™ are finding favour among discerning renovators.
Possibly the largest trend in kitchen appliances, literally, is the rapid growth in demand for large format French-door and quad-door fridge-freezers.
Having more than 700 litres of capacity in the kitchen is appealing but, with some models over 1800mm high and 900mm wide, early product selection is vital.
“Our team is committed to helping customers secure their first-choice appliances, in a timeframe that fits their renovation project.
“Customers can no longer assume that every model is always in stock in New Zealand, however we can help them navigate the challenging supply landscape – and together we can ensure their project is successful,” Mark said.
