Thames Probus Club celebrated its 33rd anniversary on August 8. Members gathered at the Thames Bowling Club to commemorate the occasion with a formal lunch and a cake.
Probus, a Rotary-sponsored club, is a fellowship group aimed at retirees. Current president Chris Hovell said she was “very proud” of the club for reaching 33 years.
The 50-strong club also inducted a new life member, June Baigent. June, a former club president, joined the group in 1998. Being offered life membership was a surprise and a privilege, she said, and she has loved every minute of her time with the club.
