Burning through the pain

Thames Valley firefighting teams conquered the Sky Tower Challenge at Auckland on May 20, raising thousands for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer NZ. The Waihī Fire Brigade team, which included Jason van der Hulst, Joel Clark, and Josh Petterd, raised $20,425. The Thames Fire Brigade, which consisted of Thames High School students Millar Morton and Daniel Palmer as well as Hugh and Kaira Gordon, Cameron Crook, Claudia Chaplin, Ashton Baird, and Shane Bromley, raised $7469. The Turua Tutus Team of Hannah Thorburn and Stacey Frow raised $1146. Donations remain open for a month after May 20. To donate visit www.firefighterschallenge.org.nz/donate.
