HAURAKI PLAINS MOTORS 100 YEAR MILESTONE FATURE
Hauraki Plains Motors will hold a one-day 100 Year Celebration Sale on October 23 to celebrate its special milestone.
At the sale, people will experience extra special bonus items at a “real steal of a price”, co-owner Diane Shelley said. The sale will include everything in store except there will be terms and conditions for new motorcycles.
There will also be a barbecue fired up, coffee for those who need the pick-me-up and spot prizes. A colouring picture will be shared on Facebook for kids to colour in and they will be at the ready with prizes for the kids who hand in their coloured pictures on the day.
People can fill out entry forms for the competition to win a Honda Lawn Mower, which will be drawn on the day.
There will also be “a bit of history floating around” for people to see and go through in the form of photos and documents, Diane said.
“We’ve still got the old vehicle books and all that for people to have a little bit of a look through from back in the day, when a vehicle was worth very little – a couple of hundred pounds for a vehicle.”
People were elated when they spotted familiar faces in the photos, she said.
“They all get a bit excited when they see a family member, ‘Oh, that was their first car they ever bought.’ We’ve heard that a number of times, and ‘oh, I bought my first car from Hauraki Plains Motors’.
“Not that we do a lot of cars these days, but still, there has been over the years a lot of first cars bought for teenagers, their kids’ first cars and things like that.” The community is invited to head along and celebrate alongside the team at Hauraki Plains Motors. It’ll be a good day.”
