The Lions Club of Waihī will host its Daffodil Brunch fundraiser on August 23 at the Waihī RSA.
The event will include a buffet, games, quiz, raffle and live music. Tickets are $35 per person and available to be purchased from the Waihī RSA or the Waihī Council office.
“All week there will be fresh bunches of daffodils for a donation to the Daffodil Day fundraiser to support the Cancer Society’s work. Look out for the Lions daffodil sellers in town,” the Lions Club of Waihī said.
The NZ Lions Clubs Free Skin Cancer Screening bus will also be in Waihī and Waihī Beach on August 29.
“The bus will be in the Fresh Choice car park in Waihī from 10am to noon and outside the United Church in Waihī Beach between 1pm and 3pm.
“We have volunteer healthcare professionals ready to do full body checks for skin cancers. Early detection saves lives. If they find anything suspicious, you will be referred to your GP for further investigation.
“It’s free and it could save your life. So, make sure you are there.”
