It may be winter right now across Aotearoa, but that didn’t hinder the sun from shining down last month for the Junior Community Rugby Festival. The year 1-6 junior teams from Maramarua Club had their game faces on, ready to tackle the day and play with heart.
Junior rugby club secretary Rachael Stanton said it was a fun day for the young athletes, who all played several games against clubs from Takapuna and Hamilton at the festival, which was held in Patumahoe. It was “a big push” for the kids after an 11-week school term and Saturday rugby, she said.
