It was a game of passion, skill and high adrenaline at the Centennial Park in Paeroa on July 5. The Thames Valley Rugby Union Women’s semi final round saw Te Poho O Paeroa go head-to-head with the Hauraki North Diamonds and come out with a 53-0 triumph on home soil. Now, Te Poho O Paeroa will prepare to face Thames in the final round.

It was also a big day for the First XV Girls, who had the opportunity to train with Black Ferns head coach Whitney Hansen.
“A huge thank you to Whitney for taking time out of her busy schedule to inspire and coach the next generation of players. Your passion, knowledge, and willingness to give back to the game are truly appreciated,” the TVRU said.
Whitney stayed on after the women’s semi-final for a live Q&A session, where she shared her rugby journey, experiences, and insights with the community.
