Petrolheads will be lining up to visit the annual Rotary Paeroa Car and Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet, on February 21 at the Paeroa Domain.
This year’s event will be a spectacular motoring extravaganza, organisers said, as a vast array of vintage, classic and V8 cars, trucks, pickups, hot rods, bikes, caravans, and other interesting vehicles fill the Domain grounds.
The show will also feature a burnout competition/showcase for the first time, sponsored by House of Custom New Zealand.
Committee member Connor Schween said the burnout will feature five to 10 motorcycles competing on a purpose-built trailer, and will be a highlight of the day.
The Car and Motorcycle Show combines two separate Rotary events of previous years, the Vintage and Classic Car Show and the V8 Show, and also includes the popular Swap Meet, where sellers will showcase a diverse range of automotive parts, memorabilia, and collectibles.
Food, market stalls, displays, demos, raffles, and entertainment from local band The Vintage Rockers will round out the offerings, committee member Margarete Ford said, with all the money raised going back into Rotary Paeroa’s community initiatives.
“Last year we ran out of room [for vehicles] so we’re hoping for that again,” she said. “It’s going to be bigger and better.”
