Students wear yellow for Harold

Students at Kopuarahi School were treated to a visit from Harold the giraffe on June 13.

The visit was in recognition of Wear Yellow for Harold Day, a fundraising event for the Life Education Trust.

Harold was accompanied by Frances Nicol from the Life Education Trust Waikato East region, along with some Hauraki Plains College students, two of whom were former Kopuarahi School students.

The tamariki danced and chatted with Harold, and discussed some of the life lessons they had previously with him, such as “rock and feather” feelings. Harold brought along prizes and worksheets to award the students for all their hard work over the school term.

“The looks on their faces when Harold came through the door… They just love Harold,” Frances said.

“And they can remember what they’ve been taught [by him].”

Harold also visited Te Rerenga School and Coromandel Area School for the event.
