Hauraki ballers shine

Hundreds of basketball teams from across the country touched down in Rotorua on January 19 to 24 for the Poitukohu Maori Basketball Tournament, including groups from Hauraki, Coromandel and Te Aroha.
People represented in theU8-U20, Tāne, Wahine,Kōeke, Whaikaha divisions.
The junior division games kicked off from January 19 to21, where Hauraki represented the Under 10s Tama and Koti-ro divisions.
The Under 10s Tama fought hard and walked away with a bronze medal win, while the Under 10s Kotiro secured a silver medal in the division and placed second overall.
The senior division games began on January 22 to 24, where a few athletes from Paeroa and Te Aroha played for Tuwharetoa in the Under 18’s division.
The team swept up a bronze medal for placing third overall in the division.
