The annual Daffodil Day Luncheon at the Paeroa RSA was resplendent in yellow on August 25.
One hundred and sixteen guests piled into the RSA for the social event, which was also attended by Hauraki Mayor Toby Adams and the Waikato Cancer Society head of partnership and engagement Tracey Wood.
“We’re so grateful for these kinds of events, because this is where the community really rallies around,” Tracey said.
As well as the lunch, guests were able to partake in raffles, “guess the lollies in the jar” competitions, and lucky door prizes.
Event organiser Margaret Ramshaw said they had already raised over $500 in daffodil sales ahead of the event, along with a further $200 in donations and raffle entries. The final donation tally has yet to be counted.
