ADVERTORIAL
The Cheese Barn is situated in a picturesque area between Thames and Paeroa, only 5km from Kopu and is on the Hauraki Rail Trail, so they get plenty of cyclists calling in off the trail. They use Coffee LaLa beans and organic milk processed in the factory, which makes for a good coffee.
It’s a popular stop to buy their award-winning cheese and yoghurt sold in the shop.
They make their own gelato and sorbet ice creams using organic milk and cream that are only sold on site.
They come in tubs or cones and also on Belgium Waffles, which are a real treat.
There is a breakfast menu served on weekends from 9am to midday.
Try The Big Barn Breakfast, or the latest menu has smashed avocado on toast or pancakes with banana and maple syrup.
Their homemade pies, frittata, and filos are a big hit too.
They have a BYO licence so you can bring your favourite wine to enjoy with your cheese board or pizza.
The kids love the big outdoor area and can feed the animals like alpacas, goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, and chickens.
The Cheese Barn is open six days a week, shut on Mondays, then open from 9am to 3pm in the winter and until 4pm in the Summer from Tuesday to Sunday.
See their Facebook page for opening hours and to see if they are open on Public Holidays, which is only in the Summer months.
